SCHEME OF EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION RULES
In order to find out whether the objectives of the scheme of studies are being adequately
achieved, the school has evolved an examination system and promotion rules which
are consistent with the concept of evaluation developed by National Council of Educational
Research & Training (NCERT) and the promotion policy envisaged by the Directorate
of education. Details of these are summarized below:
1.The programme of evaluation in various curricular areas is as under:
- Objective based aiming at the specific thought of objective of the scheme f studies.
- Comprehensive provision for coverage of all objectives.
- Continuous ensuring that there is no loss of time in getting the feed back about
the progress of student, and
- Dynamic, being completely integrated with teaching.
2.Pupil evaluation consists of two parts
- Formative evaluation which is during the term & evaluation through long and short
tests.
- Summative evaluation which is at the end of the term & covers the entire course
of studies during that term.
3.Internal Assessment/Formative Assessment
There will be internal assessment in each term; In the first term (April to September)
and in the second term (October to March). Subject teachers will conduct these assessments
in his/her period. The schedule for the formative assessment will be given to the
student before hand. For classes LKG to X, each assessment will carry 20 marks However, teachers can conduct
other Internal Assessment whenever & wherever desirable.
4.Terminal & Annual Examinations
The year has been divided into two terms- Summative Assessment I (Half Yearly) in
September and Summative Assessment II (Annual) in March. All classes will have a
comprehensive examination at the end of the each term.
The weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) shall be
as follows:

GRADING SYSTEM
The CBSE, in consultation with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt.
of India. has decided to introduce nine point grading system. In this system, student’s
performance will be assessed using conventional numerical marking mode, and the
same will be later converted into the grades on the basis of the pre-determined
marks ranges as detailed below:-
